Version 2026.10. Posted October 1, 2026.
These rules help everyone play fairly and safely. They go with the ERA Pickleball Release and Participant Agreement, which controls if the two ever differ, and they cannot change it. ERA updates these rules by posting a new version at the club, in the app and on ERA's website. Each version applies from the day it is posted, except that a change to cancellation, no-show, guest or refund rules applies only after ERA tells you about it by email or in the app, and never to a booking you already made. Staff may stop play they see as unsafe, and their calls stand, but staff do not watch every court, and each player is responsible for playing safely.
Sportsmanship and Conduct
- Treat players, guests, staff and instructors with respect.
- No harassment, bullying, discrimination, threats or violence, in person or online.
- No abusive language, and no throwing or slamming paddles or hitting balls in anger.
- Make fair line calls. In leagues and tournaments, follow the referee and the director.
- Follow staff instructions.
Safety
- Eye protection is strongly recommended. Choose eyewear made for pickleball.
- Wear non-marking court shoes or closed-toe athletic shoes. No flip-flops, street shoes or bare feet on court.
- Warm up, drink water (refill stations are on site) and play within your ability.
- Do not hang on, sit on or jump over nets, posts or dividers. Ask staff before moving any net or divider.
- Stray balls: call "ball on court" and stop play right away. Wait for a break in play before walking behind or onto another court, or ask for your ball back. Roll balls back gently; never throw them across courts.
- Keep bags, paddles and bottles off the playing surface and out of walkways.
- Tell staff right away about spills, leaks, damaged nets, lighting problems or any injury, even a minor one.
- Stop playing and tell staff if you feel chest pain, dizziness or shortness of breath.
Kids
- A parent or legal guardian must sign the Participant Agreement for every child under 18 who plays or takes part in a program. A sibling, grandparent, friend or coach may sign only if they are the child's parent or legal guardian. At 18, a player signs as an adult.
- Parents are responsible for their kids at ERA. Kids may play at ERA, and their parent or legal guardian is responsible for their safety, supervision and behavior at all times. ERA does not supervise kids, except that coaches run the activity during an ERA program.
- Before and after a program, and in the lounge and parking lot, kids are their parent's responsibility, not ERA's.
- ERA does not provide eye protection. Kids (and adults) may bring and wear their own, and we recommend it.
- Kids who are not playing stay off the courts and out of walkways.
Guests
- Every adult guest signs their own Participant Agreement before playing. A parent or legal guardian signs for a child guest.
- Guests pay the guest price unless a guest pass is used. Guest fees and limits are shown in the app and when you book.
- The same guest may join a member's booking or use a guest pass only as often as the app allows.
- Whoever brings a guest is responsible for the guest's conduct, fees and any damage the guest causes.
Booking, Check-In and Court Time
- Book in the app, on the website or at the front desk, and list everyone who will play on your court.
- Bookings are personal. Do not sell or transfer a booking.
- Follow the player limit for each court shown in the app.
- Check in at the desk, at the kiosk or in the app before you play.
- Start on time and leave the court on time so the next group can begin.
Cancellations, Late Cancels and No-Shows
- Every booking and sign-up shows its cancel window, and any late-cancel or no-show fee, before you pay. Staff can also tell you at the front desk.
Fees and Windows
- Cancel window: 12 hours before the start for court bookings, sessions and guest bookings.
- Late cancel (inside 12 hours): no refund, plus a $10 late cancel fee.
- No-show (marked by staff): you owe the session price plus a $10 no-show fee.
- Free court for your plan, no-show: the court stays free, and you owe the $10 no-show fee.
- Lessons: cancel at least 24 hours ahead. Inside 24 hours, the full lesson price is charged.
- Pausing a membership: 7 to 90 days, with a $10 monthly holding fee.
- Cancelling a membership: by email, with 30 days' notice, as the Membership Agreement explains.
- Guest fees and guest passes are shown in the app for each plan.
ERA may change these amounts by posting updated Club Rules. The amounts shown when you book apply to that booking.
- Cancel in the app or at the front desk, or as your booking confirmation explains. Cancel before the window closes and you are refunded as the booking shows, to your card or as club credit.
- Cancelling inside the window is a late cancel. A late cancel still owes the session price, plus the late cancel fee shown when you booked.
- Not coming and not cancelling is a no-show. Only staff mark no-shows. A no-show owes the session price, plus any no-show fee shown when you booked.
- If your plan includes free court time and you book a court but do not check in yourself, staff may mark you a no-show, and you owe the no-show fee shown when you booked.
- Amounts owed may be charged to your saved card, as the Participant Agreement allows.
- Lessons, camps, leagues, tournaments and private events may have their own cancellation terms, shown when you sign up.
- If ERA cancels a session, ERA refunds what you paid for it, to your card or as club credit.
- Repeated late cancels or no-shows may lead to limits on your booking privileges.
Levels and Ratings
- Join programs that match your level. To sign up on your own, your rating must fit the program's range. Unrated players can ask the front desk to be placed.
- Be honest about your level. No sandbagging, rating manipulation or playing under someone else's name.
- Questions about DUPR results go to the front desk.
Lessons and Coaching
- Paid lessons and coaching at ERA are given only by ERA instructors, unless the club director approves in writing.
- Do not recruit players at ERA for outside lessons, leagues or businesses.
Photos, Video and Posting
- ERA, and event partners and livestream providers it chooses, may photograph, film and livestream play. ERA also uses security cameras, and never records in restrooms or changing areas.
- Your name, photo, scores, standings and ratings may appear on court TVs, standings pages, the app and ERA's website. If you link DUPR or play a DUPR-rated event, ERA sends your results to DUPR.
- You can stop being featured in club posts and marketing with the Feature me in club posts switch in your profile, or by telling staff. Crowd and background shots may still be used, nothing already published is recalled, and on-court recording, livestreams, security video, results displays and DUPR reporting continue.
- ERA uses a child's name or image in marketing only with a parent or legal guardian's written permission, which they can give or withdraw at the front desk or by email.
- You may film your own play. Do not film or post other players who object, and stop if someone asks.
- Do not post photos or video of other people's children without their parent's permission.
- Never film or take photos in restrooms or changing areas.
Chat and Social
- Keep club chat and messages respectful.
- No harassment, spam or selling, and do not share anyone's personal information or private messages.
- You choose who can message you in your settings.
- Report problems to staff. ERA may remove chat or social content and limit or end chat access, and is not responsible for what other users post.
Food, Drink, Smoking and Pets
- Water in closed bottles is welcome courtside. Keep food in the lounge, not on the courts.
- No alcohol, except at a private event whose proposal allows it. Never play while impaired.
- No smoking, vaping or tobacco inside the club or near the entrance.
- No pets. Service animals, and service animals in training with an approved trainer, are welcome.
Our Facility
- ERA may change hours, close courts or the club for tournaments, events, maintenance or safety, and move a booking to another court. If ERA cancels your booking, ERA refunds what you paid for it, to your card or as club credit.
- Use the club only during open hours, and stay out of staff-only areas.
- Do not adjust lights, TVs, screens, the kiosk or other ERA equipment. Ask staff.
- No outside clinics, leagues or events, filming for a business, selling, or flyers at ERA without the club director's written OK.
- Do not use ERA's name, logo or photos to promote your own event or business.
- Follow posted parking rules. Vehicles and their contents are at your own risk, and ERA does not take them into its care.
Equipment and Belongings
- Return loaner and demo paddles after use.
- You pay to repair or replace ERA property, including loaner gear, that you, your child or your guest damages beyond normal wear.
- Cubbies, paddle racks and lockers are at your own risk, so do not leave valuables. ERA does not hold belongings for safekeeping.
- Lost and found, and items left with staff, are at the front desk. Items are held for 30 days, then donated or discarded.
Pro Shop and Gift Cards
- Pick up online pro shop orders at the front desk within the time shown when you order.
- Returns and exchanges are handled at the front desk, as a refund to your card or as store credit.
- Gift cards are not refundable once sent and cannot be exchanged for cash, except where the law requires.
Private Events
- Your event proposal sets the deposit, the balance due date and the cancellation terms. If you choose a payment plan, the balance is charged to your saved card on the dates shown.
- Every player signs the Participant Agreement before playing, and a parent or legal guardian signs for each child.
- The host is responsible for the group's conduct and for damage the group causes.
- Food and drink are allowed only as confirmed in your proposal.
Payments and Saved Cards
- ERA emails a receipt for every charge and does not charge your card for anything else without your approval.
- Payment plans you choose, such as a program plan or a private event balance, are charged at the amounts and dates shown when you sign up.
- Unpaid balances, such as a pro shop tab, may be charged to your saved card.
- If a charge looks wrong, contact ERA first.
- Removing a card stops future charges but not amounts already owed. A card paying a membership or payment plan can be replaced, but not removed, while it continues.
Messages From ERA
- ERA emails you, and texts the mobile number on your account, about your account, bookings, waitlists, schedule changes, payments and safety.
- Marketing messages need your separate opt-in. You never have to opt in to sign up or buy anything.
- Opt out of marketing email anytime. Stop any texts by replying STOP or by telling ERA another reasonable way, and ERA will honor it within 10 business days.
Accounts and Membership Cards
- Your account, login, membership card and check-in code are for you only. Never share or lend them.
- Give true information when you sign up or sign the Participant Agreement, including ages and who is a child's parent or legal guardian.
- Keep your email and phone number up to date in the app. Notices sent to your email on file count as received.
- ERA's privacy notice is on ERA's website, and the front desk can give you a copy. If you delete your account, ERA keeps your signed agreements as proof.
If Rules Are Broken
Most issues end with a friendly word. ERA may refuse entry, end a session, or suspend or end access, bookings, an app account or a membership if a player, their child or their guest:
- acts unsafely, abusively or violently, or threatens anyone;
- harasses or discriminates against anyone;
- is impaired by alcohol or drugs;
- damages property;
- cheats or manipulates ratings or results;
- misuses the app or chat;
- shares an account, membership card or check-in code, or sells or transfers a booking;
- gives false information when signing;
- fails to pay, or files chargebacks on valid charges;
- has repeated no-shows; or
- breaks these rules.
ERA may also refuse service for any other lawful reason, including a criminal trespass warning, but never for a reason the law forbids, such as race, color, religion, national origin or disability. Depending on the problem, ERA may:
- give a warning;
- suspend your access, bookings or membership for a set time; or
- ban you, which ends your access and membership.
Serious conduct, such as violence, threats or harassment, can lead straight to a suspension or ban, and staff may ask anyone to leave right away. If ERA ends your access, prepaid bookings you can no longer use are refunded, minus anything you owe. Membership refunds follow your membership terms.
Appeals. If you disagree with a suspension or ban, email the club director at info@erapickleball.com and explain why. Please write within 14 days so the director can review it while details are fresh. The director will review it and reply in writing. This review is optional and does not limit any legal right, any deadline, or the dispute terms in the Participant Agreement.
